COVID-19 kills actor Shona Fergurson

South African actor, producer, and film director Shona Ferguson is dead. He was 47.
According to Conrad Mwanza, a representative from the Ferguson Foundation, the actor passed away at Milpark hospital on Friday from COVID-19 complications and not from a heart operation has reported in the media.
โ€œYes, Mr Ferguson passed away at noon today. And all the family is asking for at the moment is just to mourn in private. But itโ€™s very difficult, you can imagine, for Connie and the family,โ€ Mwanza said.
Ferguson, the co-founder of Ferguson films, was popular for appearing in โ€˜Rockvilleโ€™, โ€˜The Queenโ€™ and others.
He was born Aaron Arthur Ferguson on 30 April 1974.
Heโ€™s known for various TV roles including starring in Muvhango as Dr Leabu. In March 2007, he left the Venda soap opera and starred as Itumeleng in The Wild from 2011 to 2013.
He started the production company Ferguson Films with his wife Connie Ferguson in 2010, who both starred in the companyโ€™s first TV production, Rockville.
In 2020, Fergusonโ€™s Netflix partnership โ€˜Kings of Joburgโ€™ premiered on the streaming platform to impressive reviews. The actor who doubled as show creator starred as Simon โ€œVaderโ€ Masire, one of the ruthless Masire brothers controlling Johannesburgโ€™s crime underworld.
The Batswana-born actor was married to actress and filmmaker Connie Ferguson.
Reacting to Fergusonโ€™s death, Netflix South Africa shared on Instagram: โ€œWe are saddened to hear the news of the passing of Shona Ferguson.
โ€œAs a fixture in the entertainment industry and a hero of black stories he will be missed. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. Once a King, always a King.โ€
