Ensure peaceful coexistence among residents, Emir tells new Alangua Ibagun

The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari weekend urged the new Alangua of Ibagun in Okelele, Ilorin, Mallam Zakariyau Abdulmalik Iyanda Ilufemiloye to ensure peaceful coexistence among the residents of the area in order to bring about the need development.
The Emir noted this during the turbaning of the Ilufemiloye as the new Alangua Ibagun.
The ceremony which was held at the Emir’s palace was well attended by eminent sons and daughters of Ibagun ward and well wishers from all walks of life.
Ilufemiloye is the 6th Alangua Ibagun of Ibagun, Okelele in Ilorin East local government area of Kwara state.
Speaking at the event, the Emir emphasized the need for the new Alangua to discharge his duties without fear or favour.
While describing peace as panacea to progress and development of any community, Sulu Gambari advised the new Alangua to ensure peaceful coexistence among the residents of the community.
The monarch urged the people of Ibagun community to support the new appointee to bring about overall development of the community.
Speaking with newsmen on the sideline of the ceremony, the Chairman of Ibagun Progressive Union (IPU), Alhaji Kuranga Omomeji Morogun described the new Alangua as a man of integrity and great charisma.
Morogun expressed hope that the reign of new Chief would bring progress and development to Ibagun community.
Also speaking, one of the elders in Ibagun community, Alhaji Abdulraheem Olesin, described the programme as unique and important to the people of Okelele community.
Olesin advised sons and daughters of Ibagun community to rally round the new Chief, even as he urged him to be a listening leader.
Responding, the new Alangua Ibagun described his appointment as another challenge to contribute more to peace and development of the community.
He appreciated the Emir of Ilorin, all sons and daughters of Ibagun community as well as his family members for the confidence reposed on him and promised to do everything within his power not to betray the trust.
The new Alangua solicited for the support and cooperation of all sons and daughters of Ibagun community to ensure peaceful reign, adding that a tree cannot make a forest.
He promised to operate an open door policy by carrying people of the community along in the scheme of things.
