One of the Kamwire Company’s worker, Sunday Odufe, who was arrested by the operatives of Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Kwara State Command, for stealing Amor cable from the company transformer, has confessed that, he did not know what led him to the act.
Sunday who was lamenting while the National Pilot was interviewing him during an interview after the command has handed him and the stolen items over to the Security, said that, he still from the company for no reason.
“My company don’t delay my salary and pay at when due. I don’t know what actually led me in to stealing of my boss properties. I do cut cables and sold it to one Mallam at Sango.
“I started with small cables which I used to sell for N20,000 before I graduated to Amor cable. I have family with two children.”
Speaking earlier, the State Chairman of Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Seriki Ndaji of Ilorin, Alhaji Jimoh Abdulraheem, said the suspects had been terrorising the company and the community adding that he had been on the Vigilante’s wanted list since six months.
The Chairman, who was represented by Alhaji Saka Ibraheem, explained further that, he was arrested with the exhibit on Saturday.
“As we were taking him to the the command, he jumped out of Keke Napep while on motion and jumped into canal along Atiku road, Adewole. We chase him but escaped.
“We launched man hunt for him and he was eventually re-arrested on Sunday. We are going to hand him over to police at Adewole for further investigation so as to arrest the person he uses to sell those stolen properties to.”
He therefore, appealed to members of the public to support the command with useful information to fight crime and criminalities in the state.
“We want support from government and well-meaning people in the society to help the command with logistics, vehicles and motorcycles to make our job easier.” He added.
