The crisis rocking All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kwara State is going beyond redemption as Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa camp has vowed not to be part of the party’s stakeholders meeting coming up today at Kwara State Banquet Hall, Ilorin, National Pilot can confirmed.
The factional camp of Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa led Kwara Chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC), has vowed not to partake in today’s APC stakeholders meeting as directed by the Chairman of the Caretaker/ Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the All Progressive Congress led by Gov. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State.
The Legal Adviser to the BOB Camp, Barr. Oladimeji Mustapha, stated this yesterday while answering questions from our reporter via telephone call.
According to him, “we are yet to receive any official notice of the said APC stakeholders meeting scheduled to hold tomorrow at the state Banquet Hall, hence is of no business to us.”
“We have never had any official or formal notification letter in respect of the APC stakeholders meeting. What they are about to do is not proper and we are not going there.
“We wouldn’t want a repeat of the siege and attack meted on our members the other time. “In the first place, it is the duty of the State Organizing Committee constitutionally saddled with staging such a stakeholders meeting. None of us never received any formal notice,” Mustapha said.
He added that there are lots of illegality being perpetrated by the Buni-led Caretaker Committee, and that if not for the respect for the party, his camp would have taken legal actions on them.
“What we had in the state was a parallel Congress. If not we are respecting the party, there are lots of illegality the Caretaker Committee is toying with. It is left for the party at national level to do the right thing.
“It is AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq that is fueling APC crisis in Kwara. He collided with his colleagues at the national to oust Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa illegally.
He hasn’t shown any sense of remorse to abate the crisis and we are there for him. It’s a fight to finish,” the lawyer stressed.
It would be recalled that the Kwara APC Caretaker Committee in a letter signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Tajudeen Aro Folarin, has called for stakeholders meeting of the party.
In a communication to the State Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the party, Alhaji Abdullahi Samari Abubakar, the Ward Congress Appeal Committee has fixed Monday 16th August, 2021 for a meeting with the APC stakeholders from all local government areas at the Banquet Hall, by 10.00am.
The party enjoined all stakeholders across the 16 Local Government Areas of the State to attend the meeting for an interface with the Appeal Committee on the recent Ward Congresses held in the state, as it would provide ample opportunity to know the modalities for appeal and other related matters.
You will recall that the crisis rocking the Kwara State All Progressive Congress Party (APC) deepened, as the two factions loyal to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq and Information and Culture Minister, Lai Mohammed intensify the battle for the control of structures.
The faction loyal to the governor, the APC Elders Caucus, has called for immediate suspension of the minister for allegedly fictionalizing the party.
The group said that the minister, “is no longer for to represent the interest of people of Kwara State” and should be removed from the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari.
But some chieftain of the party loyal to the minister fired back, threatening to suspend Governor AbdulRasaq for alleged anti-party activities. Spokesperson of the loyal to the minister, Oladimwji Mustapha advised the governor to desist from alleges anti-party activities.
Mustapha, who is also the factional legal adviser of the Kwara APC Caretaker Committee said the party might have no option other than to apply the s of Article 21 of the APC Constitution on him.
