NSCDC nabs serial house burglar

T he Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), on Monday paraded a 32 years old serial house breaker Olaleke Tope for stealing plasma Television
This was contained in a release signed by the command’s public relations officer, Babawale Zaid Afolabi and made available to the newsmen in llorin.
Tope a graduate of Business and Entrepreneur from Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Niger state, father of two of No 6 Ajala ikan Road, Adewole Estate Ilorin met his Waterloo on the 10th of August 2021 around 4am in the morning.
According to the spokesman, โ€œone Mr Hashim Bala Ibrahim, 38 years, of No 16 Adamu Abubakar Road GRA, came to our office to report this case, he confirmed that robbers came to his house between 3am and 4am and carted away two television sets namely Samsung curved UHD TV (65 inches) and TCL 4K smart TV (55 inches). The suspects ran away immediately they noticed the family were awake.
โ€œThe complainant picks up his vehicle with the intention of coming to make official report to security agent. In the process, he noticed a strange vehicle moving very slowly along their street. He made effort to stop the vehicle but the vehicle drove off and the complainant ran after the vehicle, he later intercepted the suspect and his vehicle along Maraba road. The suspect jumped out of the car and ran away,โ€ he added.
Babawale explained that the men of Operation harmony of NSCDC Swung into action and towed the vehicle to the state command. During investigation, a phone was found in the car, a particular number was picked from the prime suspect’s call history which led to a soft target that later assisted in arresting the suspect along Geri Alimi axis around 8:30pm on the 10th of August 2021
โ€œTope Olaleke, the suspect having admitted in his confessional statement, confirmed that he and one Majid who is presently at large broke into the complainant’s house and stole two plasma Televisionโ€. Babawale declared.
The PRO narrated further that, in the course of searching the prime suspect’s house and shop, about five (5) plasma television worth millions of naira were recovered along with other electronic appliances.
The commandant NSCDC Kwara State Command, Commandant Makinde Iskil Ayinla had been briefed and had assigned the Legal unit of the corps to take necessary action in charging him to court.
