Okereke opens goals account in super style to lift Venezia off bottom of Serie A

David Okereke today opened his goals’ account in Serie A with a spectacular individual goal to lift Venezia off the bottom of the standings.
Venezia won 2-1 at Empoli to record their first points of the season since their promotion from the lower league.
They have now shot to provisional 12th on the table with three points after as many games.
Venezia went in front after just 13 minutes, before Okereke came off the bench in the 67th minute and made the game safe a minute later with what proved to be the match winner.
It was a hugely individual effort by the forward, who is on loan from Belgian champions Club Brugge, as he took on the Empoli defence right from his own half of the pitch, sprinted through on goal before he fired home with the left foot from the top of the box.
His promising career was almost derailed at Club Brugge, but this magnificient effort can only get him going again.
Super Eagles defender Tyronne Ebuehi was an unused sub for Venezia.
