The former Kwara State Grand Khadi, Justice Idris Haroon on Friday paid a courtesy visit to Olowo of Owo and Paramount Ruler of Owo Kingdom, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, in his Palace.
Justice Haroun who has maternal affiliation with the kingdom, was in the palace to pay homage while in town for a private visit.
The Chief Imam of Owo, Sheik Ahmed Aladesawe, who accompanied the august visitor to the palace, introduced him by informing that, the Islamic Scholar’s family were early settlers from Ilorin in Kwara State of Nigeria to the kingdom and were impactful religiously in the Kingdom.
The Chief Imam said that, living with the people here (Owo) yielded series of positive results among such was the intermarriage of which Justice Haroon was a pride product.
Alhaji Aladesawe also brought to limelight various roles played by these religious inclined settlers in making sure that the kingdom was deeply rooted in Islamic knowledge.
While speaking, Justice Haroun corroborated the Chief Imam’s illustration of his descendants who came to the ancient Community of Owo to settle.
Justice Haroon whoย spoke in Owo dialect said, he is always happy identifying with Owo having spent his youthful days in the kingdom, and hisย closeness with his peers religiously and socially makes him to be always fond of discussing the Kingdom anytime he is free to do so.
The former Khadi narrated how firm and uprightย Oba Adekola Ogunoye II was, going by what in decades ago, transpired before, during and after the installation of the present Alhaji Aladesawe, the Chief Imam of Owo.
Justice Haroon offered prayers for long and prosperous reign for Oba Ogunoye and that peace, progress and development shall continue to be the portion of the kingdom.
Responding, Oba Ogunoye thanked the visitor for deeming it fit to pay a visit even though he was in town on a private visit.
Oba Ogunoye described the relationship overtime between Ilorin and Owo as unique and memorable going by the way they had impacted positively into the lives of the people through what they know how to do best teaching of the Islamic tenets.
The Monarch who disclosed that, he felt highly elated hearing what quality and attributes the people of the kingdom are made of, informed that, when the time is ripe to visit Ilorin, he would reciprocate the honour done him byย making a visit to Justice Haroon in Ilorin sacrosanct.
Other dignitaries in the entourage included; Barrister A. O. Mohammed SAN, Deputy Chief Imam of Owo, Alhaji AbdulRauf Iwalesin, Imam Ekusi, Jamiu Allรญ, Dr Aremu Oluyori, Grand Khadiโs brother, Alhaji Abdullahi Haroun and host of others.
