Super Eagles’ Rating Player-By-Player In Win Over Cape Verde

Following the Super Eagles 2-1 win over the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde in Tuesday’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture.
Maduka Okoye 6/10: The Sparta Rotterdam goalkeeper didn’t have much to do in the game. He could however have done better with Cape Verde’s goal.
Shehu Abdullahi 4/10: Struggled defensively and didn’t contribute much to the team’s attack.
Kenneth Omeruo 7/10: A rock at the back. Stood up to the challenge of the Cape Verdeans and was one of Nigeria’s top performers in the game. Booked for a rash tackle late on.
Chidozie Awaziem 7/10: Formed a perfect partnership with Kenneth Omeruo at the heart of the Super Eagles defence. A solid display from the Boavista man.
Jamilu Collins 7/10: A man of the match display from the FC Paderborn defender. Collins provided the cross which led to the first goal and was impressive all through.
Innocent Bonnke 6/10: Put up an above average performance on his debut for the Super Eagles. Helped shield the defence well, though didn’t offer much going forward.
Kingsley Michael 5/10: Struggled to cope with the pace of the game in the first half, but improved after the break.
Ahmed Musa 4/10: Gave possession away too cheapily a couple of times. The captain was replaced by Terem Moffi in the second half.
Moses Simon 5/10: Not a good performance from the winger. He will need to improve on his crosses and show more consistency.
Chidera Ejuke 8/10: A lively display from the CSKA Moscow winger. Grabbed his chance well and clearly have a future in the team.
Victor Osimhen 8/10: Showed great alertness for his goal and led the attack well.
Substitutes
Henry Onyekuru 4/10: Had a chance to score few minutes after his introduction. A lively cameo from the winger.
Terem Moffi 3/10: Didn’t do too much following his introduction.
Paul Onuachu 3/10: Took the place of Victor Osimhen in the 83rd minute. Had a shot blocked late on.
