Kollington Ayinla thrills audience at NIPOGA game opener

 

General Ayinla Kollington, Fuji musician from Ilota, a village on the outskirt of Ilorin, Kwara State, on Saturday, displayed his musical talent in the opening ceremony of the 20th NIPOGA Games hosted by the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin.
The Nigerian Polytechnic Games, NIPOGA witness about four thousand participants drawn from all parts of the country.
The musical icon popularly known as Kebe-n-Kwara and Baba Alatika set the whole place on ‘fire’ as many were seen dancing to his music, including participants from other parts of the country who are non-Yorubas.
His display of dancing steps and style got the attention of spectators and marketers who use the opportunity to sell their wares left their stands to caught a glimpse of the musical talent.
Present at the opening ceremony is the Deputy governor of Kwara State, Mr Kayode Alabi, who came to represent the governor; the emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari; the Secretary to the state government; the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun and host of others.
The Rector of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh Muhammed while delivering his address said the Polytechnic last hosted the games in 1981.
