That means the 25-year old will join tennis legends Stefanie Graf, Martina Navratilova, Serena Williams and Chris Evert as the only players to finish the as year-end No.1 for 3 consecutive years.
Due to the extremely competitive nature of female tennis, Barty can smile at her performance this year.
The Aussie swept to victory at the 2021 Wimbledon championships, reached the quarter-finals of the Australian open, third round of the U.S Open and the second round of the French Open.
Belrussian Aryna Sabalenka ended the year in number two, while Spaniard came third.
