Rohr’s severance package from Super Eagles agreed
The NFF and Gernot Rohr have agreed a severance package for him to step down as Super Eagles coach, according to a media report.
Rohr will receive a total of $903,000 from the NFF to step down as Eagles coach reported Sporting Life today.
Eagles sponsors Aiteo have agreed to pay a deposit fee of $451,000, while the balance will be paid over a year.
The NFF and the sports ministry are due to meet early next week to sort out all the details concerning the departure of Rohr as well as the new man to lead the national team, officials disclosed.
The NFF favour a foreign coach to lead the country to the AFCON, while the ministry is backing a local coach.
Salisu Yusuf, who has been long-term assistant to Rohr, and Emmanuel Amuneke are the two names that have widely been proposed for the Eagles top post.
