Saraki eulogizes late deputy, Ogundeji

Saturday, 13th of November was the burial and thanksgiving service of the late former Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Chief Joel Ogundeji at 2nd ECWA Church, Iwo in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Ogundeji was the Deputy Governor of the state for eight years, from Year 2003 up till 2011 during the administration of Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki CON, who is also the immediate past Senate President of the country.
Saraki, who was present at the occasion paid respect to the late Ogundeji, whom he described as a strong comrade in the struggle for good governance for the people of Kwara State.
In his own statement, the political icon said “I learned a lot from Late Chief Joel Ogundeji, I learnt Patience, I learnt loyalty, I learnt hard work and diligence.
“Late Chief Ogundeji was not a spare tyre deputy, he was a deputy in charge and was very crucial to our success, Chief Joel Ogundeji has left a great legacy that his generation would be proud of.” Saraki submitted.
Saraki, reminded the bereaved family and friends of how Chief Ogundeji was a reliable and experienced leader, whose commitment to the development of the state and its people was undeniable.
He, however, prayed to God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss, in his own words, he said: “As we celebrate his life and contributions to our great state and its people, I pray that Almighty Allah gives his dear wife, Mrs. Comfort Ogundeji, and his family the strength that they need at this difficult time.”
Late Ogundeji, aged 81, died on Thursday 26th of August, 2021, in his home in Ilorin.
