Suspected POS fraudster nabbed in Ilorin

A 24-yr-old man suspected to be serial POS fraudster has been arrested in Ilorin.
The suspect, Victor Adebayo was arrested on Thursday by the men of NSCDC kwara state command for allegedly defrauding POS operators to the tune of N700,000 in the state capital.
Adebayo who claimed to be Lagos based was picked up by the intelligent unit of the command after he has defrauded innocent people of their money.
Confirming the incident on Friday, command spokesperson,Babawale Afolabi said the suspect usually send alerts to unsuspected POS operators and collect cash from them.
“On the 13th January 2022, operatives of the NSCDC intelligence and investigations department picked up a suspected serial fraudster who has been going around defrauding people of their hard – earned money.
“The suspect usually going around in his Toyota Corolla car and very neat appearance and would meet pos operators to give him cash and he will now make a fake transfer which he has programmed on his phone.
“The suspect has really perfected the dubious act and confirmed to have been doing it for more than two years adding that sometimes he would pose like a pastor to convince the pos operators or tell that his wife is in labour in the hospital and need certain amount of money.
“Some POS operators in Ilorin metropolis thronged the Kwara Command of the NSCDC trying to catch the glimpse of the serial fraudster and those that have fell victim of the fraudster before.
“The Kwara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Makinde Iskil Ayinla has appealed to the POS operators and the entire people in the State to be wary of fraudulent act of certain criminal elements who are going around with the intention of defrauding them of their money. “
