‘You betrayed me for N70m’ — Eedris hits Charly Boy over 2004 clash with 50 Cent

Eedris Abdulkareem, Nigerian rapper, has dragged Charly Boy, the singer and activist, over the role he played during his clash with 50 Cent in 2004.
The US rapper had visited Nigeria in 2004 alongside his crew for a four-city concert tagged ‘Star Mega Jams’.
But the event was marred with heated controversies after Eedris and 50 Cent fell out over a deal — a development that eventually forced the US rapper and his team out of Nigeria.
The latest drama started after Charly Boy described Eedris as an “ungrateful son,” claiming that he played a pivotal role at the time as the president of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN).
But in a series of posts, Abdulkareem called out Charly Boy, accusing him of trying “to take the glory that belongs to him.”
The ‘Jaga Jaga’ crooner recalled that when 50 Cent and his team disgraced him while aboard a plane, he called Charly Boy to weigh into the matter. He added that the activist ended up disappointing him.
The 47-year-old also alleged that the Charly Boy “sold him out” and collected the sum of N70 million to blackmail him.
He also narrated how Psquare, the now-defunct KC Presh, and other artistes were chased and harassed out of a show by the organisers.
The rapper described Charly Boy as “a betrayal and a fake activist” who is all about money and not leadership.
He also released a video wherein he further gave his account of what transpired at the time.
