Day of Qiyamah, known as judgement day has been described as the day every creation of Allah will receive the rewards or punishment for their deeds on Earth.
This was said on Friday by a cleric in Ilorin and the chief Imam of Onimago central Mosque, mandate housing Estate, Ilorin, Imam Barr. Ibrahim Abdullahi Salaty, while addressing the congregation before leading the weekly two units prayer.
Salaty noted that, Muslims and non Muslim will meet the result of all deeds done on earth on the day Qiyamah while standing in the presence of their creator, Allah.
He stated that, on that day all evil doers will regret their actions when they come face to face with the consequences of their deeds and they have no opportunity to rectify their ways and seek for forgiveness.
The cleric however urged everyone to constantly ask for Allah’s forgiveness and mercy, stressing that, “it is only the forgiveness and mercy of Allah that can save you on the day of judgement” he said.
The legal practitioner described the ingratitude of the people of the country as the bane of the irregularities and backwardness of the nation, urging the people to be grateful to Allah for all his bounties.
“Allah has blessed this country immensely; he bestowed all that we need to live comfortably on us, but our ingratitude to all these favours have been the source of the woes facing our country.
“We all need to return to Allah in forgiveness for our collective transgressions, because if we do Allah will forgive us and bring back the good old days, surely after Allah blesses a person after forgiving him.” the cleric noted.
Adding that “If the people are good and they’re upright, Allah will give them leaders that are upright and merciful towards them, but if the people are evil and selfish, Allah will put them under selfish leaders that will not benefit them”, Salaty stated. The cleric however encouraged the people to seek repentance for their sins and never return to their wrong ways.
He also stated that, All those that have done wrong in the past and do not return to the ways ,Allah will surely forgive that person.
He added that, “Surely Allah is oft forgiving and Anyone that Allah has forgiven then He will also shower His blessings the person”.
