Saraki pays condolence visits to families of recently departed clerics, party stalwarts in Ilorin

The President of the 8th Senate of the National Assembly, at the weekend identified with some bereaved families in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital as he paid them condolence visits following the demise of their family members.
A statement signed by his Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, listed those visited to include the families of the former Ilorin East Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Ibrahim Abiola Iponrin who was a notable PDP stalwart, Alhaji Baa Gambari Ward l, in Ilorin East and renowned Islamic scholar, Alfa Rabana Kokewu Kobere at Ojagboro over the death of his mother.
Also visited according to the statement by Abdulqadir were families of another great Islamic Scholars, Sheikh ShuaiIb Abdulsalam Imam Maraba and Imam Asukuti, Fadilat Sheikh Imam Hidir Solaudeen Asukuti.
Saraki, who has been in Ilorin, his country home, for a number of functions, took time to visit the families of the deceased one after the other to commiserate with them.
During his condolence visit to the family of the late Iponrin, Dr Saraki described the death of the party stalwart as a painful loss to the PDP and Ilorin as a whole.
According to him, we are not only bounded by political party alone, but we are now a family having being through it all together.
He consoled the wife, children and the entire family of the bereaved, and shared with them, words of encouragement.
The Ilorin East Party Elder, Alhaji Olesin, who welcomed Dr Saraki and his entourage on behalf the family of the bereaved, appreciated him for taking time out of his busy schedule to condole with the family.
A sister of the bereaved, who also spoke said the family is honoured to receive Saraki and affirmed the roles the Sarakis play in their family.
The former Kwara State Governor and the Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin, was received in similar version at Ojagboro, Ilorin East LGA, by Alfa Rabana Kokewu Kobere, as Saraki condoled him and the family over the loss of their matriarch.
At Imam Maraba’s family house, Saraki described the Cleric who died last month as a great Islamic Scholar, who was highly respected in Kwara and beyond.
He commiserated with his family, the students and the Ilorin Emirates, and prayed for the repose of his soul.
At the Asukuti family compound in Agbaji, Saraki rued the death of Imam Asukuti, describing the Islamic cleric who died on Thursday as a man who loved Ilorin and Kwara with all his heart.
He prayed to God to grant the late Fadilat Sheikh Imam Hidir Solaudeen Asukuti, eternal rest, and the family he left behind, the fortitude to bear the loss.
At the Gambari Ward l, residence of the PDP chieftain, Alhaji Baa Gambari, in Ilorin East LG, Saraki who was received by a large number of family members, admonished them to take heart and see the loss as the will of Allah.
He thereafter prayed for the repose of his soul and wished the family well.
