The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kwara State Command has commenced forensic psych assessment of its personnel.
The assessment is being carried out through the use of scientific examinations to ascertain the psychology profile of officers, emotional unit, risk assessment, cognitive style assessment, self esteem, impulse control and achievement motivation.
According to the command Public Relations Officer, Olorunfemi Bello, the assessment followed directives from the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Abdullahi Gana.
He added that the test will determine the wellness and wellbeing of the officers and men of corps with focus on improved productivity.
“This exercise will no doubt improve the efficiency of officers and also enhance effective service delivery to cope with the immediate security demand across board.”
The team leader of assessment officer, a security psychology expert from Abuja, David Adeyemi Adediran, while speaking with our reporter said the test is a psychological profiling assessment of officers.
“When I came into the command, some officers thought it was a psychiatric examination. It is not psychiatric exam but psychological profiling.
“We will be able to know behavioural attitude of each officer. This will help us to fix officers in certain positions based on psychological profiling. Their response will help us to interpret their profiling.”
