All the PDP women leaders in kwara state have condemned the activities of Kidnappers in the state which resulted in the killing of APC woman leader,Koro ward of Ekiti local government in the state, Mrs Olumo Sunday Abolaji over the weekend.
The PDP party women leaders lamented that lack of government appropriate measures is putting priceless lives of kwarans in danger, and this they say, depresses women folks in the state.
In a press statement signed by the state Assistant Publicity Secretary of the Party,Risikat Olorunoje, kwara PDP women leaders said It is necessary to mention that the worsening state of security in the state is not unconnected to the paucity of ultra-effective security plans by the government.
“Government’s lack of appropriate measures to address this unfortunate development is putting the priceless lives of Kwarans in danger. Womenfolk in the state are depressed about this.
“As far as People’s Democratic Party’s Women Leaders across all LGAs in the state are concerned, we lament this unfortunate development, making it known that our mandate as the “Mothers of the State” is to support every measure put in place by the government to guarantee the true safety of its citizens.
“This is particularly soul-shattering because women are beginning to fall victim to the annoying trend, as reports related to them being unjustly kidnapped, attacked or killed are all over the place. This is condemnable.
“There is no argument that we live in an unsafe era characterized by a lot of vices ranging from banditry, kidnapping, money ritual and others. These unfortunate realities tend to delimit people’s chances to life as well as asphyxiate their access to basic peace.
“The recent kidnap of some people in Ekiti Local Government of Kwara State, leading to the death of one Mrs Olumo Sunday Abolaji, the Woman Leader of Koro Ward, represents a grave inhumanity against Kwarans, especially the womenfolk. This and more should not be allowed to continue in a state purportedly adminstered by a democratic government.
“We vehemently condemn the despicable act of bandits and kidnappers taking advantage of lack of adequate security to unleash untold hardships on innocent Kwarans. As a team of peace-loving women, we care for the safety of the state, for we know that no state can forge ahead without adequate security of lives and properties.
“We therefore call on government and security agencies to see to this ugly development in earnest by coming up with appropriate measures that can guarantee total peace and security in the state.
“All PDP Women Leaders in the state sympathize with the family and loved ones of late Mrs Olumo Sunday Abolaji and pray that she find divine favour in the great beyond.”
