Saraki alleges manipulation of Osun PDP delegates’ list

A presidential aspirant and former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, yesterday alleged that Osun State Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP’s) delegates’ list was being manipulated.

Saraki did not name those behind the manipulation which, according to him, was aimed at ensuring that he did not have the delegates in his favour.

He, however, told the delegates at the PDP secretariat in Osogbo that he was optimistic that they would support his ambition to become the PDP presidential candidate.

The former Kwara State governor said: “I don’t need to come here to canvass for votes ahead of the presidential primary because my relationship with the leaders and members of Osun State PDP predates my ambition. I’ve been around Osun PDP before this time and also contributed to several reconciliations.

“I’ve been supportive of the party more than other aspirants who are just wooing you because of their presidential aspiration. You have always been supportive of my dreams and I am very sure that I will have all the delegates during the PDP primary.

“They know that all the delegates of Osun State are for me. That was why they cancelled the already prepared delegate list and ordered for a fresh one.

“They are trying to manipulate the list in Osun State. Despite their manipulation, I am confident that with your support I will emerge as the candidate of the party.”
