A former Kwara State gubernatorial aspirant under the umbrella of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ,Prof. (Amb.) Mohammed Gana Yisa has stated that people of the state deserve a change in government in order to recompense for the ill-fortune they suffered in the hands of incumbent administration.
The seasoned diplomat said that he will work for the change of the government in Kwara State, adding that the people deserve a better deal as they have suffered a reversal of fortune in the last four years.
He said ,“I work for the change of the government in Kwara State. Our people deserve a better deal. They have suffered a reversal of fortune in the last four years. We must give them hope.”
This was contained in a statement Gana recently issued to gave insight into why he is contesting for public office in the aftermath of a meeting himself and others PDP gubernatorial aspirants from the Northern part of the state held on Friday in Abuja with the National leader of the party, Dr Bukola Saraki.
Speaking on his aspiration, Gana said that his goal in politics wasn’t just about occupying public office but rather to positively rewrite the history of the people of the state and to serve the collective interest.
He said, “I desire that history should be kind to me. My goal in politics is not just to occupy offices but to join others in positively rewriting the history of my people and our state. My seeking the governorship of Kwara State is to serve the collective interest.”
Speaking on the crux of the meeting in Abuja, The former Nigerian Ambassador to Japan said himself and other aspirants from the North along with the Candidates, Alhaji Shuaibu Yaman ,will shelve their personal interest for the collective interest of the people.
“As all PDP, aspirants agreed at our meeting last Friday, we must subsume personal interest under the collective interest of our people. We will henceforth work as a team to achieve peace, development, and prosperity (PDP) for Kwara State.” Gana wrote.
