Ilorin Students, community leaders hail PDP Kwara Central Senatorial Candidate, Bolaji Abdullahi for Educational support

The Ilorin Emirate Student Union, Al-hikmah University Chapter has hailed the PDP Kwara Central Senatorial Candidate and former Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi for his constant support for students across the country, particularly those from Kwara State.

Speaking on behalf of the students, the President of the Union, Comrade Abdulfatahi Soliu Opeyemi expressed gratitude on behalf of “thousands of Ilorite students schooling in Al-hikmah University.”

The student leader, in his appreciation message stated that , “we say a big thank you to (Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi), the incoming Senator, Kwara Central, insha Allah.”

In similar event, Community leaders and stakeholders in Ubandawaki ward also expressed their gratitude to the former Minister for paying the NECO examination fee of youths in the ward.

The Ward Chairman, Alhaji Usman Mahmoud, who spoke on behalf of the other leaders and stakeholders, expressed sincere appreciation to Abdullahi for what he described as “his countless gestures in the community.”

Alhaji Mahmoud said further that, “he has given our children fully funded scholarships to KWASU and just recently he bought UTME forms for our children and now he just paid the fees for SSCE (NECO) Examination. This is real empowerment. We are sincerely grateful.”

He said the parents and beneficiaries of the SSCE (NECO) exams especially appreciate the gesture and pray to Almighty Allah for Abdullahi’s victory in the forthcoming elections.

The former Minister, who is well known for his deep commitment to issues concerning youth development, has continually prioritized support for the educational advancement of young people, providing scholarships, mentorship and promoting excellence through a sustained initiation or backing of various educational development programs, including the establishment of a literature prize to promote reading and writing among Kwara youths.

Espousing his belief that the future of Nigeria as a country rest on the quality of its young people, Abdullahi once said, “the quality of our youths reflects the extent of hope in the future of our country. We must continue to support them”.
