Ilorin celebrate peaceful Eid as Emir charge Politicians to go embrace singular goal of communal progress

It is a beautiful day in the city of Ilorin as thousands throng the massive Ilorin Eid prayer ground to observe the Eid prayer in commemoration of this year’s Eid l Kabir.
As the country is approaching the political season, Politicians across party divides have been charged to shun hostility but rather embrace the single goal of progressing their community and better the lot of their people.
This call was made by the Emir of Ilorin, His royal highness, Alhaji.Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari through popular Ilorin cleric, Sheikh Yusuf Olopoewa while addressing the congregation.
He said, “The election is coming you need to see each other as one since you’re all pursuing one goal which is the progress of the community, you do not need to be hostile one another.
“You all need to united regardless of party divides and make Ilorin and Kwara State better and that will be of benefits to everyone of us.” the cleric said.
In the same vein, the Acting Grand Kadi of Kwara State Sharia court of Appeal,Hon.Justice Abdullateef Kamaldeen urged all political actors in the state to exercise caution in their utterances in order to forestall incitement and crisis.
Kamaldeen however call on all Muslims to be more dutiful in their worship, saying that they need to follow the teaching and guidance of Prophet Muhammad.
“I’m advising all Muslims to intensify their worship, we don’t have any other helper but Allah and we need to follow all the rules laid down by Prophet Muhammad” says the Grand Kadi.
It was also announced that the Emir of Ilorin was outlawed the slaughtering of sacrificial animals at the Eid prayer ground on days that are not Eid celebration.
The Eid prayer was attended by several dignitaries in leading in the roll call is the former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki and the Waziri of Ilorin Emirate, who arrived to a massive cheers by his supporters.
Also at the ground is the executive Governor of Kwara state, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq;his brother Dr Alimi AbdulRazaq.
Others are Ex PDP National Chairman Alhaji Kawu Baraje;Former Minister of Youths and Sports development, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi;Ex CJN, Justice Alfa Belgore among others.
The prayer started shortly after the Emir of Ilorin arrived at the prayer ground at exactly 10:15am.
