Six Robbers bag death sentence, life imprisonment in Ilorin

‘Everyday they say is for the thief’ ,that was the saying that tells the fate of six armed robbers in Ilorin after the long arm of law finally caught up with them.
The Kwara State High Court, sitting in Ilorin yesterday convicted six persons over the offence of armed robbery and receiving stolen property.
The convicts, Ajayi Olamilekan, Oluwasola Saadu, Raphael Odebunmi,Ganiyu Abdulrahman, Qaudri Ali and Aliyu Isah were arraigned before Justice Taoheed Umar of the state High Court.
National Pilot gathered that the convicts robbed one Alhaji Kayode Waheed and dispossessed him of a Nissan Jeep, Toyota RAV4 Jeep, two laptops, four phones and many other valuable properties.
In his ruling, Justice Taoheed Umar ordered capital punishment for the trio of Ajayi Olamilekan, Oluwasola Saadu and Raphael Odebunmi ,sentencing them to death by hanging.
While the other convicts,Ganiyu Abdulrahman, Qaudri Ali and Aliyu Isah were sentenced to life imprisonment and their terms are to run concurrently.
However, speaking to newsmen, the Kwara State Director of Public Prosecution, Barrister Abdulmumini Adepimpe SAN expressed satisfaction over the court verdict, saying the judgement would be a deterrent to many people who may want to indulge in evil act.
