Gospel singer and song writer, Ekene Agomuo has released a new album to mark her 50th birthday celebration.
Agomuo, who turned 50 on October 3, 2022, released the new album, tagged: ‘Golden Worship,’ in Surulere area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.
This is her second album, after the first one, ‘Great Confidence’ released in 2018.
Agomuo said she named the album Golden Worship to celebrate her golden jubilee and because God allowed her to turn 50.
The album has five tracks – Golden Worship, Heal our Land, Imee la, Victorious and You Reign.
Agomuo said she got most of her song inspiration from God, “either when I am in the church listening to messages, it comes like that, I put it down, before you know it, He gives me what to sing, I feel the world should be blessed with the songs.”
On why she stayed too long to release her second album, Agomuo explained that the gap was due to COVID-19 which affected the entire world, as she also had to wait on God to get inspiration for her songs.
Agomuo has been singing when she was young in Catholic Church before she became born again between the age of 16 and 18 years and had her stint at the Deeper Life Bible Church, where she sings in the choir.
Her father and mother were singers, likewise her sibling and children. She cannot tell if she got the inspiration to sing from her father or mother.
She believed that the gospel music industry in the country will boom later unlike what is happening now.
Agomuo planned to hold a music concert for youths in Lagos before the end of the year in a bid to draw them closer to Christ.
