Following the statement of the Kwara state governor, Mallam Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq who reportedly said Saraki dynasty collapsed in 2019 election, the state’s People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in its response said the party finds the statement by the governor Abdulrazaq, delusional and completely hallucinatinatory.
In a statement signed by the party’s state publicity secretary, Prince Tunji Moronfoye and made available to National pilot on Tuesday the party said “We are taken aback by the fact that the governor is completely, insulated, isolated, detached and unaware of the happenings around him. How can the governor talk about his team being formidable and on top, when his electoral vehicle is without any engine to propel it? He is banking on a political machine based on sycophants and green horned, political eaglets”.
Kwara PDP noted further that,” Pre-2019 during the “OTOGE” political scam, the All Progressives Congress (APC) had a united team with; Alh. Lai Mohammed, Senator (Dr.) Yahaya Oloriegbe, the current senator representing Kwara central Senatorial district, Chief Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa (BOB), Hon. Bio Ibrahim, Alh. Shuaib Abdullahi Yaman, the current PDP Gubernatorial candidate, Alh. Lukman Mustapha, Alh. Hakeem Lawal, Alh. Yakubu Gobir, Professor Abdulraheem Oba, Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo, Hon. Yekini Alajagusi, Hon. Ganiyu Cook-Olododo, Senator Ahmed Ahmed, Hajia Aisha Aman Pategi, Barrister Salman Jawondo (SAN), the Late Chief Rex Olawoye and many other political heavyweights.
“Without the above coalition, defeating the Saraki political dynasty in 2019 would have been nearly impossible. All of the above listed men and women worked with governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to win the APC victory of 2019.
“Now, that all these competent men and women have since left the marriage of convenience to chart their own political courses in other parties. We make bold to ask Mal. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq; “who has a depleted political team now”?
“We at the PDP wonder how the governor came to the conclusion that he was still formidable after all the political haemorrhaging suffered by his mediocre APC regime. The majority of the political gladiators that left the Abdulrazaq APC team had one major complaint, which was the lack of trust they had for anything that had to do with Mal. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
“They all felt betrayed by his lack of team spirit with his alleged crass egocentric and narcissist attitude.
Some of the people that left the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq team, also mentioned the fact that the incompetent Kwara APC regime had consistently shrouded the activities of government in a dark veil of secrecy.
“We at the PDP and the Saraki dynasty have remained undivided and together since after the 2019 elections. The PDP had immediately after the elections set up a committee to look at the immediate and remote causes of our loss at the elections and a powerful reconciliation committee headed by Alh. Kawu Baraje, the former PDP acting National chairman, was consequently assigned to meet and reconcile agrieved party members of the Saraki political dynasty, in every single ward and local government of the state. Most of our initial members who had left for one reason or the other are back home to the dynasty, making us much more formidable than pre 2019.
“A huge number of disillusioned members of the APC have also joined forces with the Saraki political dynasty to uproot the usurper, Mal Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq from power, come 2023.
“One wonders what political school if any, the governor attended, for him not to know the basic rule that, politics is a game of numbers. Why would we not canvass for votes and support to win elections? We are very much unlike him and his team who had postured arrogantly in the early days of his unfortunate regime, only to now start going around trying to beg aggrieved APC members to return to him and his depleted rag tag team of sycophantic mediocres. This is after he had humiliated former APC loyal party members with his “winner takes all” management style.
“There is also the fall out of the APC kangaroo primaries elections, which are still a major issue to contend with, inside the kwara APC. Litigations between party members are still ongoing in court. Most APC aspirants in one court or the other, seeking redress about their ill-fated APC primaries, have allegedly threatened to work against Mal. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and other APC candidates should they lose in court. In stark contrast, there isn’t a single court litigation emanating from our party’s primaries.”
“We put it to Mal. Abdurahman Abdulrazaq that, Kwarans already know that the APC regime he leads had accessed closed to *HALF A TRILLION NAIRA REVENUE* in less than their four years in power without any completed landmark project commissioned. Kwarans also know that Mal. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has refused to conduct local government elections and he is the “sole administrator” managing the finances of all local governments of the state. Kwarans experience the failure of critical infrastructure daily, under the inept Kwara APC regime led by Mal. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
“In conclusion, we make bold to say that, the PDP and by extension the Saraki political dynasty are the team to beat in the 2023 elections, not the rag-tag, Kwara APC propaganda spewing machine.” The statement reads.
