Kwara State Acting Chief Judge Announces Id-El-Fitr 2023 Vacation
Justice, A. A Adebara of the High Court of Kwara State has announced the court’s vacation for the 2023 Id-el-Fitr celebration which will start from Thursday 20th April to Monday, 24th April.
In a letter written to the Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association, Ilorin branch, on Tuesday, 4th April, the Acting Chief Judge stated that the sitting of the high court for the dispatch of cases shall not hold from Thursday, 20th April to Monday, 24th April, 2023.
He further stated that “The Court shall however, be opened to hear and determine urgent matters during the period of the aforesaid….” Subsequently, the acting Hon. Justice Adebara provided that the court will resume sitting on Tuesday, 25th April.
The letter which was titled “Id-el-Fitr Break” reads that:
In accordance with the provisions of Order 9 Rule 4 (1) (d) of the High Court of Justice (Civil Procedure) Rules 2022, the sitting of the High Court for the dispatch of cases shall not hold from Thursday 20th April to Monday, 24th April 2023 both days inclusive
The court shall however be open to hear and determine urgent matters during the period aforesaid in accordance with Rules 5 of Order 9 of the Rules of Court
Normal sittings of the high court shall resume on Tuesday 25th April 2023
