Kwara state House of Assembly has charged the Chairman, Transition Implementation Committee, TIC, Offa Local Government, Jare Tundun, to ensure and uphold transparency and accountability in all activities of the council under his leadership.
This was part of the resolution on Tuesday on the report of the House Committee on Lands, Housing and Urban Development on a petition titled “Offa Local Government TIC’s chairman’s fraudulent land scandal and untold silence of the state House of Assembly on a victim’s petition.
The petitioner also alleged a perceived conspiracy and endorsement of fraud using government official position and privileges.
The petition was tabled before the House by the Chairman of the Committee, Hon Abdullahi Halidu Danbaba (Kaiama/Kemanji/Wajibe) constituency.
The House also directed that all matters relating to the petition be closed forthwith due to the fact that the salient issues raised therein have been resolved.
