A 16 -year old, Al-Amin Babajide Sulyman, a student of Zumratul Adabbiyyah Islamic school, Okekere, Ilorin, has gone missing.
The teenager reportedly left home for the madrazat(studying centre)and failed to return.
It was gathered that the missing student was brought to Ilorin by his father to continue Arabic school after completing his junior WAEC in 2015.
The incident has left the school authority and the family seriously disturbed after a fruitless search that has lasted for several days.
According to his father, Imam Muhammed Saliu, on a telephone interview, the incident happened on September 23,2023.
The father, a resident of Ikorodu in Lagos who had relocated to Ilorin, explained further that, “We have reported to the police and they have radioed all their stations but nothing yet. On our own, we have also stepped up our search party and nobody has called us demanding for ransom.
“This is his eight years in Ilorin and we have never experienced anything like this. Sulyman is my second child but first son.
“I always travel down with him whenever he is coming but was called by his teacher after I returned to Lagos this time around by Abdullateef Elewuetu that he has not arrived home on the second day of the incident. It has been extremely traumatising for us”, he noted.
Effort to contact the Kwara state police command spokesperson Ajayi Okasanmi on the development was not fruitful as the calls put to his phone were not answered.
