43-yr-old Male, 18-yr-old Female Bodies Recovered From Stream,Well In Ilorin

The body of a yet to be identified 43-year-old man was recovered from a stream and another body of an 18 years old female, identified simply as Waliyah was recovered from a well at separate locations in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara state, on Tuesday.

This was contained in the press statement issued by the Kwara state fire service spokesperson,Hassan Adekunle, and made available to newsmen.

According to him, personnel from the fire service were alerted by a resident in Isale Asa, in Amilegbe area of Ilorin East Local Government at about 17: 08 hours and promptly, they swung into action.

“The dedicated firemen exhibited their remarkable skills and successfully recovered the lifeless body of an unidentified man, approximately 43 years of age. The body was handed over to a team of police officers from the ‘A’ Division of the Nigeria Police Force in Ilorin,”he added

.

On the 18 years old Waliyah, he said the incident also happened at 6:46pm on the same day.

“The Kwara State Fire Service responded to an emergency rescue operation in the Ile-Olodo, Ita Merin – Alore area of Ilorin, Ilorin West Local Government Area Kwara State.

“Tragically, an 18-year-old girl named Waliyah had drowned in a domestic well. The dedicated personnel of the Kwara State Fire Service successfully recovered her lifeless body and respectfully handed it over to Alhaji Adisa Akanbi Magaji of Ile Olodo, Ita-Merin, Ilorin.”

Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John, took this opportunity to stress the importance of safety consciousness to the general public. He issued a stern warning to parents and guardians, urging them to safeguard their children and refrain from sending them to fetch water from domestic wells, adding that safety should always be a top priority.
