7-yrs-old-boy body recovered from domestic well in Ilorin

The Kwara State Fire Service on Monday evening recovered a body of about 7 years old boy, simply identified as Abdull-Hayi, from a domestic well in Tinu Street, Akerebiata area Ilorin, in Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara state.
The Fire Service Commis made this known in a statement signed the Head of its Media and Publicity Department, Hassan Adekunle.
“Today, Monday 6th November 2023, a Boy of about 7 years old called Abdull-Haayi of Yaa-Lateef House, Tinu Street Akerebiata area Ilorin, Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State, fell into a domestic well and recovered died.
“The terrible incident occurred in the evening at about 17:28hrs (05:28 PM) and the Brigade was summoned through a telephone call by One Mr Idowu Living in that neighbourhood.”
However, Firemen were able to recover the dead body from the well and later handed it over to one Mr Yussuf, a family member of the deceased.
It was gathered that the victim went to fetch water at the well and during the process of fetching one of his legs suddenly slipped off the ground and he tumbled down the well.
Meanwhile,the State Director of Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, expressed his sadness over the incident.
He urged the general public to be more careful in their day-to-day activities.
Prince Olumuyiwa also charged them to desist from sending under aged children to fetch water in a domestic well.
