Kwara PDP’s High-Powered Delegation Visits Edun Community over Fire Incidence *…Urges Government Action and Fire Safety Awareness among Kwara Residents

In response to the devastating fire incident that struck the Edun community on Monday, 15th January, a high-powered delegation from the Kwara Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Honorable Owolabi, the Kwara Central Senatorial Chairman, and Honorable Abdulrahman Abdullahi Kayode (Greatkay), the State Secretary, paid a sympathy visit to the affected area yesterday
Expressing heartfelt commiserations, the PDP delegation while being received by representatives of the Maigida family compound, one of the affected victims described the incident as tragic and unfortunate, acknowledging the distressing impact on the community, where an estimated 75 buildings and a mosque were engulfed in flames, causing substantial damage to properties valued in millions of Naira.
The Party also delivered Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki’s message to the community, declaring Waziri Ngeri’s concern about the tragic incident and his prayer for the community at this difficult time.
The Party urged the state government to promptly provide relief materials for the victims, aiming to alleviate the shock from the substantial losses suffered by the affected families.
Additionally, the PDP called on the state fire service to conduct mass orientation sessions, particularly in commercial areas of Kwara, enlightening residents on preventive measures to safeguard against future fire incidents.
Among the distinguished members of the PDP delegation were Hon Atolagbe Alege, the former Commissioner for Health in Kwara State, and Mr. Olusegun Olusola Adewara (Sholyments), the State Publicity Secretary and the Senatorial chairman, Kwara North, Hon GbadunGbadun. The delegation also included the Ilorin South Local Government Party Chairman and the LG PRO, along with notable figures such as Mallam Olaitan Obalowu, an Assembly aspirant in the 2023 election, and Comrades Agbaoja, and other party chieftains.
