PDP Finalizes Candidate Submissions for Kwara LG Elections, Declares Readiness

The Kwara State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced its full compliance with the Kwara State Local Government Electoral Laws (as amended in 2024) and the guidelines set by the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWASIEC) for the September 21, 2024, local government elections.
In a statement released by its secretary, Abdullahi Kayode,the party said it has completed the submission of all required forms ahead of the Friday deadline given by KWASIEC.
“We are pleased to announce that we have submitted all 193 ward councilorship forms and 16 chairmanship forms for our candidates to KWASIEC on Friday, July 12, 2024, before the 12-midnight deadline set by the Commission,” the statement read.
The PDP affirmed that the submission, which was led by the party’s state secretary Abdullahi Kayode, underscored its dedication to the electoral process.
“Our team, led by the State Secretary, Abdullahi Kayode, waited at the KWASIEC premises to ensure that all forms were duly submitted, demonstrating our party’s commitment to the electoral process and readiness for the forthcoming local government elections.” The statement further read.
The party, therefore, commended the candidates for their perseverance throughout the submission process.
“We commend our candidates for their hard work and resilience throughout this exercise. We now look forward to KWASIEC’s fulfillment of its commitment to conducting free, fair, and credible elections”, the statement concluded.
