The Forum of former members of the Kwara State House of Assembly, under the All Progressives Congress (APC) has charged the state government to ensure regular funding for its health insurance scheme.
The scheme was recently launched by Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed in Ilorin.
While describing the scheme as a welcome development, especially when viewed from the current status of the nation’s health sector, the forum called for effective sensitisation of the people.
It stressed that the concept would ensure all Kwarans and residents of the State have access to good health care services.
In a statement signed yesterday by the forum’s Chairman and Secretary, Hon. Layi Ayinde and Hon. Isiaka Mogaji respectively, the ex-lawmakers noted that the scheme would not only protect families from the financial hardship of huge medical bills being charged by health service providers, but also reduce the cost of health care services in the state.
The statement charged prospective health service providers to ensure high standard of health care service delivery to the people.
It further urged residents of the state to take advantage of the laudable gesture of the government by participating actively in the scheme, through registration with token amount in order to access quality and affordable health care service delivery.
