Offset to make acting debut in ‘American Sole’

Offset, a US rapper who doubles as a husband to Cardi B, an American songstress, is set to make his Hollywood debut in a forthcoming movie titled ‘American Sole’.
According to Deadline, Offset will join movie stars like Pete Davidson, O’Shea Jackson Jr., and Camila Mendes in the film, which was written and will be directed by Ian Edelman, a famed screenwriter.
The STXfilms movie follows the story of two characters (Davidson and Jackson) in their 20s with lots of college debt. They “use the fast cash of after-market sneaker reselling to achieve their American dream.”
Their hustle becomes a nightmare after their startup runs out of cash with a shady investor their only way out.
Offset, whose real name is Kiari Cephus, is expected to play a computer engineer who becomes critical to the story.
In addition, he is also working with Edelman and Jason Markey, STX Music executive, as a solo artiste to curate and executive produce the ‘American Sole: The Soundtrack Album’, which will include at least one original song.
Speaking on their deal with the rapper, Adam Fogelson, the chairman of STXfilms Motion Picture Group, said: “To have Offset joining our team is a dream scenario. Offset’s character is important to the storyline.
