Barrister A.U. Mustapha (SAN), a prominent legal luminary and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, on Monday, resigned from his position as the Chairman of the Kwara State Education Trust Fund.

In his resignation letter addressed to the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, on Monday, the legal luminary wrote:

Your Excellency,

NOTICE OF RESIGNATION AS CHAIRMAN, KWARA STATE EDUCATION TRUST FUND

“The above subject matter refers. I hereby resign as Chairman of the Kwara State Education Trust Fund, effective today, the 7th day of October 2024. I am grateful for the opportunity to have served Your Excellency and the Kwara State Government during my tenure.

I wish Your Excellency and the good people of Kwara State all the best for the future.”

According to Nationalpilot findings, Barrister A.U Mustapha is the younger brother of Honourable Mashood Mustapha whose business complex was demolished on Sunday night, as result of this, there were speculations that the legal practitioner’s resignation is connected to the demolition exercise.

Barrister Mustapha made a name for himself through his personal efforts to enhance educational infrastructure. He notably revitalized the classroom buildings at IwanuDeen Government Primary School in Kuntu, replacing crumbling structures with a contemporary multi-story facility. His influence also reached sports development, where he played a key role in restoring the main bowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex after it was damaged during a political rally hosted by the ruling party APC.
