Lukman Atanda Becomes Chairmain of IEDPU FCT Chapter

Lukman Atanda Abdullah has been elected as the new Chairman of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) for the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria (FCT) chapter.
Atanda, a member of the Kubwa branch, was elected during the union’s quarterly meeting held in Iddo. The election which was overseen by a three-member committee chaired by Alfa Yusuf Ibrahim Aamina also brought in Alhaji Mashood Sulaiman from the Gwagwalada branch as the Vice Chairman of IEDPU.
Other officials elected during the meeting include Alhaji Yusuf Adebayo from Anagada branch as General Secretary, Malam Mahruf Onimago from Garki branch as Financial Secretary and Treasurer, Malam Abubakar Bello from Iddo branch as Public Relations Officer, and Mr. Musa Mukhtar from Mpape branch as Auditor.
In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Lukman Atanda expressed his commitment to continuing the work of his predecessor, Alhaji Mashood Al-Kadriyar, who was commended for his dedication to fostering unity among all the branches in the FCT.
“We appreciate the efforts of Alhaji Mashood Al-Kadriyar for his selfless service to the association. We will continue to unite our branches and work towards the progress of our members,” Atanda said.
Additionally, the meeting acknowledged a letter from the Kuje branch, signaling the engagement of the entire FCT community under the new leadership.
As Alhaji Atanda affirmed, “Alhamdulillahi, we are committed to taking our association to greater heights.” The newly elected officials will guide the activities of the union throughout their term, with a focus on furthering the progress of the IEDPU FCT chapter.
