Police Machine retains Kwara Super League

 

The 8th editions of Kwara State League came to an end on Saturday as Police Machine Football Club of Ilorin defeated JP Young Stars Football Club of Ilorin 3-1 by penalty, held at the Kwara state stadium complex.
The Police Machine beat their opponents 3-1 on penalty shootouts after a barren draw in regulation time.
The final was graced by the Kwara state Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Alhaji Muyideen Alalade, the FA chairman Alhaji Busari Ishola, the Director of Sports, Coach Tunde Kazeem.
Others include, the Chairman Kwara football Clubs Owners Association, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Owolabi Wopa and the Team Manager, Kwara United Jimoh Oke.
Speaking with our reporter shortly after the match, the Kwara State commissioner for Sports, Youth and developments, Muideen Alalade praised the FA for putting up such an avenue to discover talents.
According to him, this is part of the efforts of the Kwara State Government for earmarked huge budgetary allocation to cushion sport developments in the state.
He charged the winning team to be magnanimous in victory as well the runners-up not to lose focus.
Also speaking, the Kwara State FA chairman, Busari Ishola commended the two teams for the act of sportsmanship displayed throughout the competition.
He added that the football umpire in the state will ensure that raw talents are discover across the state, the basis for staging the annual soccer fiesta.
The state League is an annual football event being organise by the Kwara State Football Association.
The sole aim is to discover new football talents, as players selected will represents the state at the national competition.
This year tournament witnessed one of the largest participants of 32 clubs.
