Saraki’s Legacy Shines As KA’AH FC Wins Waziri Cup Tournament

KA’AH Football Club emerged victorious at the finals of the Waziri Cup tournament, held on Thursday, defeating Limited FC with a 2-1 scoreline. The thrilling match, hosted at the SMABIS Sports Arena in Fate, Ilorin, was organized to commemorate Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki’s 62nd birthday celebration.

The event highlighted Saraki’s impactful legacy in youth and sports development, as noted by his Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir. According to Abdulqadir, Saraki’s efforts have empowered countless youths, enabling them to chase their dreams and unlock their potential.

In his remarks, Saraki expressed gratitude to the organizers, participants, and supporters of the tournament. He emphasized the personal significance of the event, stating:

“I’m thrilled to celebrate part of my birthday with you and I appreciate this gift on my birthday because it is something I value so much. Seeing some of the young players who are of the same age as the players I mentored during my tenure through Abubakar Bukola Saraki FC as governor now thriving in international teams fills my heart with joy.”

A passionate advocate for sports, Saraki reaffirmed that the achievements seen during the tournament reflect his administration’s deliberate focus on youth and sports development.

The Waziri Ngeri, who officially commissioned the match, also presented the trophy and medals to the champions and players, acknowledging their dedication and skill.

Accompanying Saraki at the event were notable dignitaries, including the former National Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, the Kwara State PDP Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Muhammed, and former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Prof. Ali Ahmad, among others.

The tournament serves as a beacon of Saraki’s enduring commitment to nurturing young talent and fostering growth opportunities. His presentation of awards to the winners underscored his unwavering dedication to empowering the next generation.
