A Tribute To My Father, Alhaji Ibrahim Ajao Amode (Olopa)
By Sarat Ibrahim Adebayo
Thursday 30th, marked the 33rd anniversary of my beloved father, Alhaji Ibrahim Ajao Amode, fondly known and called Baba Sara. Although he is no longer with us, his legacy continues to live on in our hearts as his children and in the countless lives he touched.
As a devoted family man, my father prioritized education and encouraged us to strive for excellence. His philanthropic spirit was evident in his generous support for those in need, often giving without seeking recognition.
He was a police officer who died in active service on January 30, 1992. He selflessly facilitated employment opportunities for many, both within his family and in the wider community. His impact was felt by all who knew him.
We remember him for his passion, kindness, and unwavering commitment to family values. One of his favorite songs for me, “Beta re a dun kokoka to ba kawere, bata re a dun kokoka.. #Sarat kawe re, bata re a dun kokoka. Batare awo sere re nile, to ba kawe re, bata re e wo sere re nile…”, continues to echo in my mind, serving as a reminder of his wisdom and love for knowledge.
As we celebrate his life, we find comfort in knowing that his legacy inspires us every day. We will forever cherish the memories of his love, guidance, and generosity.
Rest in peace, dear father. Your memory will never be forgotten.
May Almighty Allah grant you a permanent place in Aljanah Firdaus and continue to bless and guide the family you left behind.
