Three Abducted in Kwara as Gunmen Strike Village

Suspected kidnappers struck in Kwara State on Saturday night, abducting three individuals, including two siblings and a woman, from their residence. The incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. in Owoyale Agbamu, a community within Ajase Ward 2 of the Irepodun Local Government Area.
Confirming the attack on Sunday evening, the stateโs Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, stated that the assailants stormed the village along the Oro-Agbamu road, forcibly taking their victims to an undisclosed location.
The abducted individuals were identified as Alhaji Moshood Owoyale, his brother Alhaji Abdulkazeem Owoyale, and Moshoodโs wife.
In response to the incident, the Kwara State Police Command, in collaboration with local vigilante and hunter groups, launched an intensive search operation. Authorities are actively combing the surrounding forests in a bid to rescue the victims unharmed and track down those responsible for the crime.
“The Kwara State Police Command is aware of an unfortunate kidnap incident that occurred on 1st February1, 2025 at about 2200hours. It was reported that unknown armed men stormed owoyale village along oro-agbamu road and forcefully whisked three persons to an unknown location.
“Alhaji Moshood and Alhaji Abdulkazeem Owoyale (siblings), and the wife to Alhaji Moshood.
“The Police alongside the vigilante/hunter groups has swung into action; combing the forest to rescue the three victims unhurt and apprehend the criminals behind this act.
“Further development on the outcome will be communicated as it progresses”, the PPRO stated.
