Ten-year-old Unilorin Edu Tech Prof’s Son, Wilson Onasanya authors Mathematics book

Ten-year-old son of a Professor of Educational Technology, University of Ilorin, Professor Samuel Adenubi Onasanya, Wilson Onasanya has authored a Mathematics Textbook titled ” My Adventures With Numbers”.

Unveiling the book to the public at Lightway Schools in Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital, Proprietor of the school, Mr David Erinoso acknowledged the dogged determination of the author in contributing to Mathematics Literature.

Mr Erinoso is also a Mathematics Teacher said the young scholar has made his school proud for achieving the feat at tender age through sleepless nights.

In his reaction, the author’s father, Professor Samuel Adenubi Onasanya is extremely enthusiastic that his son Wilson Onasanya who is a Primary School Pupil is able to write a book on mathematics titled “My Adventure with Numbers” and described his son scholarship as a testimony that little children are capable of doing so many things and urged parents not to not undermine them.

Professor Onasanya said when he first came up with the idea, as a father he did not want to take it seriously but after he approached him the second time, and noticed he was serious about writing the book, that was when he thought of supporting him and accorded full back-up at the family level.

He observed that God has endowed children with skills, competencies, and manners of gifts hidden in them and urged the parents to partner with them to ensure they help them grow.

The University of Ilorin Don, therefore advised other children not to just think that they cannot do anything having been empowered by God.

Also speaking, the author’s mother, Dr Temi Onasanya expressed joy as a proud mother since her story is now from grass to grace as she thanked God for giving her strength nurture her son to become not just a writer but an author at a young age.

Dr Onasanya who is of Universal Basic Education Board, Abuja, pointed out that the young author has been a child that loved documenting his journey right from the beginning as a someone born into a family of scholars and sees his parents reading and studying most of time and just picked interest.

In his submission, the author, Wilson Onasanya attributed the book success to his parents and hopes to be a Medical Doctor in future.

The young scholar, Wilson also received different cash awards coming top as Best Mathematics Pupil across eight categories while his younger brother, Wilfred Onasanya clinched award of Best Pupil in Primary 2.
