Kwara Utd Supporters Club begs KWSG to release fund for United

The Kwara United Football Supporters Club, Ilorin has appealed to the state Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed to release fund for the club to enable them to compete well in 2017/18 NPFL season.
The Chairman of the Club, Alhaji Gambari Imam made the appealed last Thursday while speaking with Pilot Sports after the team’s home victory against Lobi Stars of Makurdi in NPFL week 6 game played in Ilorin.
The chairman said the boys needed to be motivated in order to compete well among their counterparts, adding that football cannot be played with empty stomach.
“I want to believe this team can do well if they are motivated. These crops of players we have are good and they are ready to do the state proud but they too need to be encouraged.
“I want to appeal to the state government to release money the management for the outstanding salaries and owed sign on fees of the old players”, he appealed.
He however praised the government for their support on the team in the past, urging them not to relent.
Gambari also called on private individuals and companies to  give necessary support, adding that government alone cannot shoulder the responsibility of sports.
The chairman then urged players and the technical team to double their efforts to move them out of relegation zone.
