My transfer not linked to Offa robbery – Ex-Kwara CP

…as Saleh takes over baton
By Ahmed Ajikobi
The immediate past commissioner of police in Kwara State, Ado Lawan has debunked media reports that he was replaced by the Inspector General of Police, Idris Ibrahim over the recent banks robbery incident in Offa.
Speaking with this medium last night, Ado described his transfer as a normal routine exercise in the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), saying it was misleading for anyone to link it to the bloodletting incident in Offa, three weeks ago.
Ado, who has been transferred to the Police College Kaduna State spoke in a telephone interview with our reporter last night, โ there is no truth in such report, the IG did not transfer me because of the Offa robbery attack. Those making such speculation are spreading fake news. My transfer is not unusual as a policeman can be transferred at any time.โ
The immediate past CP took over from Olusola Amore on June 19, 2017. Before his short stint in Kwara, Ado was in-charge of General Investigation at Force Criminal Investigation Department, Abuja.
In Ado’s place, Aminu Pai Saleh has been posted from the Federal Capital Territory as contained in a press statement by the state police spokes person, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi.
The new CP, who had his first and second degrees from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, resumed duty on Friday.
Before now, Saleh served at the Staff College Jos, Force Headquarters, Abuja, and was Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations in Niger and Kano State respectively.
He also served as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of state CIID, Ekiti State Command and until his appointment he was the Commandant Police College, Kaduna.
