Hajj 2017: Ilorin zone to airlift 2,942 pilgrims

A total number of 2,942 Muslim intending pilgrims will be travelling through Ilorin International Airport to perform the 2017 Hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This figure comprises pilgrims from three states; Ekiti 172, Kwara 2,468 and Ondo 302 making the Ilorin Zonal District of National Hajj Commission (NAHCON).
Speaking with this medium, yesterday, the Acting Zonal Coordinator of Ilorin Zone, Alhaji Ibrahim Fijabi said a total of 2,972 intending pilgrims will be flying for the hajj exercise through Ilorin International Airport.
He stressed that three flight schedules will be operated today with Medview airline uplifting twice while Max air will convey the last batch.
“Medview air will airlift 460 at 3pm for the first schedule and the second schedule with 220 pilgrims at 11pm. While Max air will airlift 550 pilgrims at exactly 8pm,” Fijabi disclosed.
According to him, all necessary arrangements have been put in place for effective screening of the intending pilgrims.
He noted that the screening centre at the airport has been renovated with the necessary gadgets for a successful checking.
The Coordinator urged intending pilgrims to be law abiding during the period and avoid carrying contraband items.
He equally warned family members of the intending pilgrims to keep off the screened pilgrims to avoid been arrested by security agencies.
