Embarrassed day judge told me I’m as ignorant as my boss

Though the experience I considered unforgettable happened long time ago when I was still a young wig in the profession, but it’s impact is still fresh in my mind like it was yesterday.
On this fateful day in court, I was lambasted and I received lashes from the judge.
What led to this?
On this fateful day in court, I was sent by my principal to handle a particular file. However, I was to move an application. Based on how I was taught in the law school, I wanted to move it orally, little did I know that I was wrong. The judge tried to guide me but I insisted and I became unconvincing about it thinking I was right by trying to move the motion orally. This was what annoyed the judge who lambasted me saying “You’re as ignorant as the boss who sent you”, I felt insulted but there was nothing I could do than to still appreciate my ‘Lord’ for putting me through.
