Osun revenue service storms Ilorin to understudy KWIRS

Officials of the Osun Internal Revenue Service (OSIRS) were in Ilorin on Monday, to understudy the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS).
The performance of the revenue house has continued to be point of attraction to other states of the federation.
It would be recalled that Lagos, Bauchi and Kogi states among others have visited the state to acquire knowledge about the operational strategies of the revenue service.
The OSIRS team was led by the Board Secretary, Mrs. Oluwatosin Falomo and Head of Information Technology, Mrs. Mary Adeyemi.
Speaking at the event, the Board Secretary commended the Executive Chairman of KWIRS, Dr. Muritala Awodun for his efforts in improving the Internally Generated Revenue of Kwara State.
She described the revenue agency as a role model for other states in the country.
She said, “The overwhelming strides KWIRS has recorded in revenue drive and the implementation of law and autonomy is the main factor that necessitated the visit to Kwara State.”
“We are here to learn your operational strategies most especially the implementation aspect to enhance our revenue drive, ” she added.
While receiving them, the KWIRS Director of Special Duties, Mr. Segun Olaniyi appreciated the officials of the revenue Service for considering KW-IRS a model in revenue administration.
He attributed the success of the Service to the managerial skills of the Awodun whose initiatives, he said have made the Kwara revenue reforms attainable.
After a brainstorming session where ideas were exchanged, Falomo appreciated the KWIRS team, for making the experience worthwhile.
She expressed hope for opportunities for such programmes in future.
The event was attended by the Director of Admin and Operations, Mrs. Adenike Babajamu, Director of Special Duties, Mr. Segun Olaniyi, Director Corporates, Alhaji Nuhu Olaide Muhammed, Deputy Director Internal Audit, Mrs. Omolara Ojulari, Head of ICT, Mr. Temi Kolawole and Head of Corporate Affairs, Mrs Habibah Aiyelabegan.
