Family members, friends and associates of bereaved former national president of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Sen Smart Adeyemi are to bid his late wife an eternal farewell in three-legged solemn ceremonies that begin today.
The 30 years marriage between the Senator and Mrs. Helen Yemisi Adeyemi who died at the age of 54 about two weeks ago, produced four children – two males and two females.
Funeral arrangements put together by the family and associates of Adeyemi indicates that a Service of Songs was held 5pm yesterdat at Redeemed Christian Church of God Central Parish, Plot 1249, Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja.
A Christian wake-keep is to take place at Senator Smart Adeyemi’s residence in his hometown, Iyara in Ijumu local government area of Kogi state 5 pm, today.
The funeral service is to take place at 10 am on Friday at St. Paul Anglican Church, Iyara.
Although the death of his only wife after three decades of their marital journey has really shaken Senator Adeyemi, his associates who lament the loss of the God-fearing Mrs. Adeyemi have rallied to console him and ensure a befitting eternal farewell.
