‘100 Kwara entrepreneurs to access CBN loan’

 

No fewer than 100 agrobusiness owners in Kwara State will soon access soft loans to grow their enterprises, Pilot Business has learnt .
Towards this end, the Enterprise Grooming Institute (EGI) has begun training of potential beneficiaries.
Training for the first batch of 17 entrepreneurs has commenced in Ilorin, the state capital.
Speaking to this medium on Tuesday, the proprietor of EGI, Prince Ayo Tajudeen Ajisefini Tajudeen, said the effort is geared towards developing the Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSMEs
“The Federal Government is boosting the Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSMEs) sector of the economy through CBN intervention with a scheme called Agrobusiness Small medium Enterprise Investment Scheme.
“The scheme has the following terms, 5% interest rate, maximum of seven years tenure, repayment after 18months among others.”
According to him, to access the loan the potential beneficiary must attend enterprise development training at any accredited CBN Enterprise Development Institute (EDI).
Ajisefini explained that the certificate from EDI is the first requirement followed by a bankable business plan among others criteria.
He called on MSME operators to take advantage of the opportunity by keying into the scheme, adding that the terms is very comfortable to entrepreneurs.
In a chat with this medium, one of the guest lecturers, Nasir AbdulQuadri said “The programme is targeted at making Nigerians to be self reliant.
“It is believed that before you can be given any fund you should have the right knowledge about creativity, expansion and funds management.
