Five middle-aged men yesterday, cheated death following a ghastly motor accident involving a commercial bus along Ajase-Ipo Road, Ilorin.
The driver of the blue Toyota Liteace bus (otherwise known as Turoturo) with number plate Kwara XB 160 GNN was said to have lost control thereby running into a solar street light pole erected on the median kerb.
Speaking with our reporter, an eyewitness who simply identified himself as Akeem, the self-accident occurred around 12:15 pm, leaving five occupants of the bus injured.
โThe commercial bus which was coming from Offa Garage was heading towards Post Office area when the driver lost control and the vehicle suddenly hit a street light.
โFive occupants of the vehicle who sustained serious injuries were however rushed to Ilorin General Hospital for medical attention,โ he said.
Meanwhile, men of Kwara State Police Command and officers of the Kwara State Road Traffic Maintenance Authority (KWARTMA) who arrived the scene of the accident later were said to have evacuated the vehicle.
