Air passengers were on Saturday stranded at the Ilorin International Airport for about four hours as a result of bad weather condition.
The Abuja bound Overland passengers, who were scheduled to board the aircraft at 8:30am, were delayed until 11am.
A staff at the airport, who craved anonymity because he was not allowed to speak to press, confirmed that the weather affected flight operations.
“It is a natural occurrence, which is beyond control of everyone. We are, however, hoping that it will get better soon.
One of the passengers, Mr. Amos Uchenna, said no one was to blame for the development being natural phenomenon and for the safety of passenger and crew members.
“We don’t have any other choice than to wait and stay calm until the weather gets better,” he added.
He however called on meteorological agencies in the country to up their game on enlightenment on the issue.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) had last Tuesday predicted that dust haze weather conditions in horizontal visibility range of one to three kilometres would prevail over most parts of the country .
NiMet also predicted a reduced localised visibility of less than 1000m over many cities throughout the forecast period.
